What is Address Cleansing?

The GlobalGateway Address Validation Service corrects the address for countries all over the world. It adds missing components such as a region or city, it formats the address as per local country standards, and it validates the address exists in the country to the level of building, street, city, or postal code. An address validated to the building is very precise, whereas an address validated to the postal code means the service could not validate the address to a point any closer than the geographic region of postal code.

GlobalGateway includes Validation codes in a Verify response where address cleansing is included. These validations can be found at the bottom of our Errors page.
