Platform Update 6.0

Release Date: July 2, 2024

Person Verification

Identity Document Verification

  • Enhanced natural language processing for addresses extracted from ID documents
    • This update integrates advanced address parsing, normalization and fuzzy matching.
    • By normalizing the address data extracted via OCR, it can be compared to user-inputted data or PII data from credible sources like registries and credit bureaus.
    • Applying this intelligence layer increases the accuracy and efficiency of our verification processes.
  • Key Features
    • Data Preprocessing and Standardization
      • Address Parsing: Our system now uses advanced parsing libraries to decompose addresses into individual components (e.g., street number, street name, city, state, postal code).
      • Standardization: Address components are normalized to a standard format, including converting text to lowercase, standardizing abbreviations (e.g., “St.” to “street”), and removing unnecessary punctuation.
    • Handling Variations and Diacritics
      • Normalization of Diacritics: Characters with diacritics are converted to their base characters (e.g., “München” becomes “Munchen”).
      • Synonym Lists: Common variations and synonyms for city names are used to ensure consistency.
    • Fuzzy Matching
      • Our proprietary intelligence layer is now applied to compare pre-processed addresses, allowing for flexibility and accommodating minor discrepancies.

Web, iOS and Android SDKs

  • Blur detection and user feedback during image capture
    • The image capture SDKs now detect blur during the capture process. The user is prompted to hold steady and retry.
    • This increases the likelihood of a high-quality image capture that is optimized for accurate, automated verification, leading to higher verification rates and a superior user experience.

Person Match

  • Tertiary rule added
    • Customers will be able to configure a third verification rule (with help of implementation support team) to match on when primary and secondary rules do not match.
    • This adds flexibility for our customers to improve their match results where there is a ‘no match’ on primary and secondary rules. This will be especially beneficial for highly sophisticated customers with complex requirements.

Business Verification

  • New high performance data sets for business verification, now accessible directly through Trulioo, for the UK, France, Australia and the US.
    • Providing substantial uplift in transaction benchmarks, like response times, accuracy and data freshness
    • These data sets provide a great amount of additional context for customers looking to verify the authenticity of businesses with a comprehensive lens
  • Custom match threshold levels at a per account level for Business Name and BRN match signals, making business verification more flexible for strict or relaxed match criteria
  • A new global data source brings enhancements to Business Essentials, increasing performance in 20 countries.

Workflow Studio

  • Trulioo can now localize the end-user experience during onboarding by rendering a workflow in 42 supported languages, including real-time localization that presents the language of the browser and allows end-user language selection.
  • Improved the design of the document upload field to be more interactive and user-friendly.
    • Customers can now specify the number of files they want end users to upload, instead of being limited to just one.
  • Added subtext to fields, allowing customers to include additional details or instructions.
    • This helps customers adding custom localization to fields understand what the field actually refers to in English.
  • Customers can now add their watermark on hosted workflows for better brand visibility.
  • Customers can now add a custom timeline to delete all data on Workflow Studio based on the data regulations they are subjected to.
  • Customers can now use test entities created on a global or account level to get a sense of what a transaction may look like for the way they have configured services in their workflows. The test workflow that previously only used mocked service outcomes now extends to using test entities.

Customer Portal

  • An update to the customer analytics page for all Trulioo services, providing a higher level understanding of transactions with Trulioo, without having to separately assess each service’s direct API view.
  • Users can now see the performance of all services and integration types on one page, instead of checking up to eight different pages.
  • This update represents a natural step towards an improved platform experience and is available to all Trulioo Platform users.
